Colada morada

November 2nd celebrates ‘’Día de los muertos’’ or ‘’day of the dead’’ to commemorate people who passed away. For this celebration, people prepares bread in forms of persons, named ‘’guaguas’’(from the quichua ‘’wawa’’ which means ‘’kid’’) decorated with powdered egg and sugar to draw the face and other details. This is accompanied with a thick and sweet drink called ‘’colada morada’’ that is prepared with purple corn flour, blackberries, strawberries, cloves, verbena, cinnamon and other 12 ingredients.
